California Arts and Art

California art is a multi-billion dollar industry. World class museums and galleries include The Getty, The Getty Villa, and fine art galleries throughout Northern and Southern California.

Art cities that are tourist destinations attracting visitors to the art scene include beach cities Carmel and Laguna Beach.

And nearly every city and town now has a farmers market with an arts & crafts fair, an art walk or art festival.

Even though art funding is not largely available in public grade schools like it once was, many cities have volunteer fundraisers to provide art programs for youth, and in higher education, there are many fine arts programs in colleges and universities, plus private art schools.
