 For The Love of Chocolate and SweetArt Festival guarantees to satisfy the sweet tooth and the sweetheart. Bring your sweetheart or just your sweet tooth to the Downtown Business Association's  Annual February event. Sample locally brewed beer and wines, paired with San Diego's finest chocolates. Also, spend the day shopping at Sweet Street, enjoying live music, or taking a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride down historic Grand Ave. Downtown Escondido Admission: is free, while a carefully-selected assortment of exotic chocolates will be paired with boutique wines, champagnes and locally-crafted beers inside ten retail stores along Grand Avenue, for those 21 and older who purchase tickets for the pairings. Included with the pairings will be samples of chocolate infused dishes and beverages presented by local restaurants. Kid-friendly chocolate activities have been added to the event this year. 

ArtWalk is held the 2nd Saturday of every month in downtown Escondido.   Home to fabulous art, Escondido has a wonderful tile mural in a public park that pays homage to California through Queen Califia, a fictional queen for which the name of the state likely was derived.
