Laguna Beach, Calif.-
--Laguna Beach Art-A-Fair is consistently chosen one of the top art festivals in
the U.S. With participants attending year after year (some have shown at this
event for 40 years or more!), visitors have
enjoyed coming home to this
canyon-friendly outdoor venue amongst
the towering eucalyptus trees that exude
a refreshing fragrance. Even taller
than those trees are the houses and
mansions high on the mountain
overlooking the Art-A-Fair.
Laguna Beach, long known as an artists'
colony ever since early 20th century painters found joy painting the natural,
rugged landscape, thus paving the way for today's artists who continue to find
inspiration around every bend. In fact, just next door at another venue is the
Sawdust Festival, held during
the same time.
Laguna
Beach Art-A-Fair entrance is showcases
an ordinary building with a sculpture of a
woman and man floating in space with a
bouncing baby cradled by one of the
man's hands and the woman's arm
stretched with her hand also supporting
the toddler between the two
adults.
Art A Fair Festival is Laguna Beach's
only internationally juried art
festival. In existence since 1966, it features more than 125 top
artists in all media ranging from oil,
acrylic and watercolor paintings to the
emerging digital arts. Glass, ceramics,
textiles, photography, mixed media,
sculptures and fine jewelry are
represented.
Open daily from late June to early
September, visitors
can wander the grounds and explore.
Shopping, dining, live musical acts, artist demonstrations and lectures
and free workshops along with children's art activities
all provide more than just shopping.
Gourmet lunches and dinners are served
in the ambience of a pleasant outdoor
dining area next to a waterfall by one
of Laguna Beach's most popular new
restaurants. Tivoli Too.
