More than $15,000 was raised at the Sixth
Annual Huntington Harbour Philharmonic
Holiday Boutique at the Huntington Harbour
Mall recently. Over 1,000 people came to the
event and purchased spectacular clothing,
creative crafts, wonderful jewelry and
fabulous handmade items.
Proceeds from the popular sale went to the
Philharmonic Society of Orange County for
youth programs that help elementary, junior
and high school students to understand,
enjoy and appreciate music by seeing a
variety of exciting performances featuring
orchestras, soloists and others.
"More than 4 million people have
participated in these youth music programs
for 50 years," said boutique volunteer and
legendary reporter, Eva Kilgore. "It's so
much fun for everyone involved that we
really look forward to it every year."
"I'm so happy and grateful that 25
spectacular vendors participated to make
this such a success," said Susan Qaqundah,
the event coordinator. "I also thank the
community for coming out and purchasing
items for themselves and as gifts and making
it possible for our students to receive this
very special gift of music."
The fantastic HHP Annual
Cruise of Lights narrated Harbor Boat Tour
starts in mid-December. This year's theme is
"Golden Memories." Tickets: cruiseoflights.org .
