Huntington Beach Chief Of Police Ken Small's
Administrative Assistant Karin Reed asked me
to mention this Item:
On July 19, 2012 at 12:59 PM the Huntington
Police Department received a call of a bank
robbery that had just occurred at the Union
Bank located 16141 Beach Bl. A male suspect
had entered the bank threatening to have a
weapon and demanding cash. Bank employees
cooperated with the suspect and he left the
location with undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers responding to the area were
provided with a description and began
searching for the suspect. A Huntington
Beach officer spotted and detained a male in
a neighboring shopping center that matched
the description of the suspect. Employees
from the Union Bank positively identified
the detained suspect and police arrested
David Hill, a 52 year-old transient, for
bank robbery. All the money was recovered
and the F.B.I. responded to assist in the
investigation.
Hill is currently on federal probation for
bank robbery and Huntington Beach Detectives
and the F.B.I. are looking into the
possibility Hill may be involved in other
robberies. Hill has been booked at the city
jail for bank robbery.
Huntington Beach Public Works Department
Construction Manager Eric Charlonne asked me
to mention this item:
Time Warner is continuing their work on
Slater Avenue from Goldenwest Street to
Springdale Street then on Springdale in
Huntington Beach for the next few weeks.
Please use caution in those Areas.
Parking Lot Improvements Enhance Greer Park
The Maintenance Division of Public Works
recently renovated the parking lot at Greer
Park, located at 6900 McFadden Avenue. The
existing pavement had deteriorated to a
point beyond the maintenance benefit of a
slurry seal. A city contractor completed an
asphalt overlay on July 6. In the overlay
process, the existing edge of pavement is
ground down and a new 2-in. layer of asphalt
concrete is constructed. This much needed
improvement extends the service life of the
pavement and provides a smoother, more
attractive setting for park visitors.
