The Huntington Beach Police Chief Ken
Small's Administrative Assistant Karin Reed
asked me to mention these Items:
On August 31, 2012, Huntington Beach motor
officers conducted a motorcycle enforcement
saturation detail. Between the hours of
10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, they issued 36 traffic
citations focusing on unsafe driving. Five
of those citations included motorcyclists
who did not have a driver license endorsed
to be riding a motorcycle. The funding for
this enforcement was provided by the Office
of Traffic Safety as part of a statewide
effort to reduce the number of motorcycle
involved injury and fatality traffic
collisions. More enforcement details like
this are planned in the future.
Eric Charlonne who is The Construction
Manger at The City Of Huntington Beach
Public Works Department asked me to mention
this Item:Caltrans Project on Pacific Coast
Highway
Caltrans has informed the City that a
project to replace temporary concrete
barriers with guardrail on Pacific Coast
Highway north of Seapoint is scheduled to
begin on September 10. The work will require
the closure of one northbound lane on PCH.
Since the work is scheduled for both day and
night shifts, the lane closure will likely
be in place continuously. The project is
anticipated to last until early November.
Questions regarding the project can be
directed to the Caltrans Office of Public
Information at (949) 724-2000.
