There are no new items to report from The
Huntington Beach Police Department.
The Huntington Beach Public Works Department
Construction Manager Eric Charlonne asked me
to Inform You of these Items:
County to Hold Public Meeting to Discuss
Edinger Avenue Bridge
The County of Orange is preparing plans to
replace the timber bridge along Edinger
Avenue adjacent to Countess Drive. The
existing bridge can no longer support the
traffic load it was originally designed for.
The proposed project will replace the
existing bridge with concrete to improve
public access to the Sunset Aquatic Regional
Park.
In an effort to keep the community informed
and to receive input, the County will be
hosting a community meeting at 7:00 pm on
October 30 at the SeaGate Clubhouse on 16011
Bonaire Circle, Huntington Beach. They will
discuss the proposed improvements, schedule,
and temporary construction impacts.
Water Main Extension Project on Springdale
Street
On October 15, 2012, City Council awarded a
Water Main Extension Project on Springdale
Street, from Glenwood Drive to Briarcliff
Drive. City staff identified this location
whereby approximately 140 single-family
residential homes, is currently fed from one
point of connection on Springdale Street.
Constructing the relatively short segments
of new pipe will create a continuous looped
system providing service redundancy,
eliminating water quality concerns from dead
end pipes and enhancing reliability for
greater fire protection to this residential
area.
