Department who received a proclamation from
the Seal Beach Police Chief at this previous
Monday's Seal Beach City Council Meeting.
Many agencies at all levels were honored and
thanked for their assistance during the
worst mass murder in the history of Orange
County at the Salon Meritage.
Huntington Beach Public Works Employee Eric
Charlonne asked me to Inform you of this
Item:
The sidewalk and curb ramp concrete work
continues along Edwards between Warner
Avenue and Talbert Avenue. The work along
the Edwards Frontage Road, Fallingwater,
Armada and Vatcher should be completed by
Monday 11/21/11. This work is to bring the
City's sidewalks into compliance with the
American with Disabilities Act (ADA) to
allow access for persons in wheelchairs or
other disabilities. Later on, the contractor
will come back to place what are called
truncated domes, the little bumps made out
of rubber, in the center of the curb ramps.
These truncated domes are also part of the
ADA requirements notifying persons with
difficulties with vision a way to inform
them they are entering an area where
vehicles are present.
It was hoped that portions of the roadway
work along Edwards would have started
already, However, due to weather,
availability of materials and our decision
not to impact the roadway over the
Thanksgiving weekend this work will now
start in early December. Overall the work on
both Delaware Street and Edwards Street are
progressing fine and will be completed by
mid February 2012.
