Courtney Conlogue, 19, who won the 2009 US
Open in HB, recently signed posters and hats
for delighted visitors at Surf City Nights.
The hardworking former Summer X Games Gold
Medalist and recent champion of the Swatch
Girls Pro France Surfing Competition at Les
Bourdaines, has surfed out of HB for years.
She's literally living out her dream of
being a pro surfer, a dream she's had since
10. Now Courtney is one of the top surfers
in the world, who spends over 6 hours a day
in the water getting ready for competitions
like the US Open. "I want to be ready for
the chances I get so I gladly put in the
training," said the nice athlete, who also
runs and boxes to keep in shape. "I love
being able to perform in my home surf, where
I have lots of friends but I also love being
on the move and not getting stagnant." Pat
Lien of Chuck Dent Surfboards is a big
Courtney fan, who's thrilled she's doing so
well. "She's having a great year and is a
real competitor," said the longtime HB
legend. Courtney, who is sponsored by
Billabong, was signing posters of her
surfing, courtesy of Toyota of Huntington
Beach. All of us in Surf City wish her the
best. She's a fantastic HB Ambassador
throughout the world. Go Courtney!
