Newport Beach Beaches: If you're feeling a little "LOST" head for Newport Beach. The SoCal sand paradise features several miles of flat sandy beaches along the peninsula where you'll see lots of surfers and their girlfriend or boyfriends.

Newport Beach surfing doesn't usually include all they hype you may hear about in neighboring Huntington Beach, but the surfers catch basically the same waves, and they ride them just as great.

Surfers can be seen daily riding the waves. For beginners there are surfboard rentals near the Newport Pier and also at Balboa Pier. There are also several surf shops along Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach where you can stop to buy wax, a board, bodysuit, or maybe inquire about lessons and rentals. One of the best known shops is called the Frog House.
