Scott Creek Beach, Davenport, Santa Cruz Co.

Scott Creek Beach, Davenport, CA Connecting the dots between Scott Creek Beach and inland Scotts Valley which is just 30 minutes from San Jose's Silicon Valley and six miles from Santa Cruz beaches, the region is known for its majestic coastal redwoods amid the Santa Cruz Mountains. At the Pacific Ocean, the Scott Creek Beach is known for fantastic wind and kite surfing, and a bit of (unofficial) nude sunbathing, though the beach can be breezy and cold during the winter months.

Scott Creek Beach is operated by the Santa Cruz County Parks (scparks.com) and is located on Highway 1 north of the city of Santa Cruz in Davenport.

The half mile long beach at the bottom of a small bluff is a preferred surfing spot. Swimming isn't advised at the beach because of an undertow.

There are no restroom facilities, no pets allowed, no fires, etc. Just plain beach and ocean. People from Santa Cruz drive north of town to get away for a quiet moment and this has been one of their favorite beaches to do so.
