Sunset Beach Sand Hotel
Sunset Beach offers a wonderful vacation for those seeking affordable trips with the beach on location. The hotel seen in the picture is Sunset Beach's Travelodge.
You can park your car and walk over to the beach in about 20 steps. The hotel is fairly affordable, all things considered. We recommend you stay on the ocean side and pay a little more. The other side of the hotel features rooms facing Pacific Coast Highway.
When visiting, you'll find the location at Sunset Beach shown here sits next to Bolsa Chica State Beach where the bonfire rings are located. If you plan to walk to them instead of paying the $15 parking fee for admission into the state park, you may want to rig up a wagon or some carrying device to take your wood and beach goodies as the walk is more than a few steps. It's the equivalent of several blocks.
For beach toys such as the bodyboard and umbrella shown in the picture, you can also rent these items at the concessionaire at the state beach, or go across the street from the hotel at Warner stoplight on Pacific Coast Highway to purchase items from the beach store in the shopping mall. The store is worth checking out for souvenir t-shirts, flip flops, beach toys and decal stickers.
