If you were a kid (and we all were at one time,) where would you most like to play? I'd pick the beach.
Sunset Beach is for kids. On any given summer day you'll see handfuls of children intently at play...working the sand into the hands, onto their feet, and pushing it, molding it, scooping it into buckets and even making shapes with it.
Kids love the beach and for parents who have come to Southern California for a Disneyland vacation, the beach is a must. Locals, of course, know the benefits of the sand playground that keep children occupied for hours on end.
Sunset Beach is pretty much a family beach where you'll feel comfortable taking kids to play. There are public restrooms nearby, outdoor showers for rinse off, and next to the location where this picture was taken is a Jack in the Box with burgers, fries, sodas and all the foods kids love.
There are also several kid-friendly hotels next to the beach such as Travelodge, Best Western and an Econolodge which is now called Sanatra Inn.
