Antioch is located in the East Bay San Francisco area. Mostly known for its residential communities affording access to jobs in the region, Antioch hotels are minimal as of this writing.
The city provides great access to a variety of nearby attractions, places to visit, and things to do. Antioch is at the banks of the San Joaquin River, and serves as a Gateway to the northern California Delta the point where the Sacramento and the San Joaquin Rivers come together and continue to the Pacific Ocean.
The Contra Costa County city of more than 100,000 people is considered among the most affordable East Bay San Francisco residential communities. Other Contra Costa cities such Orinda, Lafayette and Walnut Creek are considered among some of the best places to live in San Francisco area, but they aren't very affordable compared to Antioch, which is in the eastern portion of the county.

Mangini Museum Agricultural Museum is a year-round farm operates, offering tours. Opened in the summer of 1998, the museum pays homage to the days when Contra Costa County was mostly farms and ranches. A classroom and garden were added and an educational program was launched, now serving local youth. Agriculture, food, nutrition, and the environment are examined with hands-on learning. Questions such as where does food come from, how does it arrive at your dinner table, and how does food nourish us are of special interest in the program. Antioch El Campanil - The historic downtown theater El Campanil Theatre opened its doors to the City of Antioch and the Diablo Valley on November 1, 1928. El Campanil (the tower of bells) is Spanish in both name and architecture and offered an audience chamber of approx. 1,100 seats, as well as a limited stage and back of the house areas to support vaudeville entertainment. El Campanil was also a single screen cinema. Antioch Marina complex, pier The Marina is located at the foot of L Street at Marina Plaza . Berths are available for rent. The Antioch Marina, built in 1988, is located at the foot of "L" Street in Antioch. The Marina features berths from 24 to 70 feet with eighty-two covered berths between 32 and 50 feet. All berths are constructed of concrete, providing even floatation with clean smooth dock surfaces. Overnight visitors and yacht club cruises are welcome.
Lone Tree Golf Course - 18 hole public course. Lone Tree was built on open hillsides adjacent to Mount Diablo State Park in 1934 and 9 more holes were constructed in the early 1950's. In 1990 the majority of green complexes were transformed to sand based greens-- holes #12 and #15 are the only two greens that are from the original construction and require golfers to have sharp accuracy being the two smallest greens on the course.
