Capistrano Beach (Capo Beach) is a small beach community in Orange County, California between Laguna Beach and San Clemente. There are several beach hotels across the street from the sandy beaches and Pacific Ocean providing affordable vacations for tourists visiting from around the globe.
Not really a community unto itself, Capistrano Beach is zoned within the
region of Dana Point, and nearby attractions such as Dana Wharf, the whale
watching tours, harbor, festivals, and Doheny State Beach all provide easy
access for tourists booking hotel rooms in Capo Beach.
Getting there is an easy and quick exit off the San Diego Freeway (5).
From its prime location, you're nearly equal distance between Legoland theme
park in Carlsbad, and Disneyland Resort theme parks in Anaheim.
Capistrano Beach Park features a nicely paved basketball court, parking, restroom
facilities, the beach and bonfire pits, first come - first serve.
Across the street from the beach are hotels and restaurants such as Olamendi's featuring Mexican food since 1973. An overpass bridge connects
Capo Beach with the hotels, shop and restaurants and the ocean and beaches that are separated by busy Coast Highway 1.
To the south of the beach is a
fence, separating a gated beach
community from the public beach.
In addition to expensive homes in
the gated portion of Capo Beach (on
Beach Road) there are vacation
rental homes.
