You can tell you're passing through Tipton because of the huge water tower on the side of the road with name, Tipton, on it. On our last drive through, we also saw some cell tower cells attached to the tower, adding a little extra adornment to the California landscape.
Weather in Tipton is typical Central Valley hot during the summer, and mild to cool in the winter months.
At one count there were around 2,000 people living in Tipton, with Hispanics making up the majority at around 75%. Tipton spans about 1 square mile, but the small town enjoys active participation from residents in its special events that recently included Earth Day Cleanup, Jamaica Festival, 4th of July Celebration, and Portuguese Festa Parade held in late May.
