Kern Valley Museum contains a library of many early western movies filmed in the Kern River Valley. You'll see that though you haven't spent much time in Kernville, it is actually well known.
Use Kernville as your base camp and head north to see the giant Sequoia trees in the Trail of 100 Giants and Needles granite formations.
