Oroville is located in what we like to call "god's country" in the Shasta Cascade region of California not far from the northern California border with Oregon. Located approx. 65 miles north of Sacramento, and several hours by car from San Francisco Bay Area and Reno (between 2.5 - 3 hours, each) in Butte County, you'll discover that it's just far enough away to feel like a rural vacation.
With several golf courses, bicycle trails, and horse trails, the great outdoors beckons throughout the seasons. Its picture perfect location along the Feather River also offers sports such as fishing and boating.
The tallest earth-filled dam in the U.S. is located 770 feet above
the stream bed of the Feather River near Oroville is a California State
Park where you can camp, picnic, hike, sail, water ski, swim, and enjoy
both floating campsites and horse campsites.
See the smallest mountain range in the world at the Lake Oroville
Visitor Center inside the state park. There's a tower where you can view
the smallest Sutter Buttes mountain range and California's spectacular
Sierra Nevadas.
