Pleasant Hill is a city in the East Bay San Francisco area, known primarily as a residential community. It features several outstanding golf courses that include Pleasant Hill Country Club and the Grayson Woods nine hole golf course. Part of the Tri-Valley marketing area branded as a tourist destination, the region had grown into its own as a wine country destination.

Trails pass through the heart of the city offering jogging, hiking, bicycling, skating and horseback riding in a leisurely, rural pace with vistas of Mt. Diablo.

During the spring and summer the parking lot at City Hall hosts the local farmers' market, in addition to many seasonal events. Free outdoor Summer Concert Series where many residents of the city and surrounding communities come to sit on the lawn area around the lake at City Hall and listen to a variety of live bands each week, the 4th of July Parade, picnic and fireworks show, and other events throughout the year offer locals and visitors fun things to see & do.

Located in central Contra Costa County, Interstate 680 is the major freeway accessing the city, as well as a BART station.
