The industry in Ripon and surrounding areas is primarily agriculture with large crops of grapes and a variety of nut trees, almonds being the most prevalent. Also produced in the area is grapes, dairies, and several types of crops.

As you drive into the charming city with wide, clean streets and well-kept buildings, you'll notice the big water tower on the edge of Main Street. You also may observe numerous churches along the way, and see the Historic Ripon sign positioned as you enter and drive through downtown.

Located in the San Joaquin Valley of Central California, Ripon is next to Highway 99, approx. 10 miles north of Modesto, 60 miles south of Sacramento, and 90 miles east of San Francisco.

Ripon's San Joaquin Valley location assures ideal climate for growing specific crops. It is hot and dry in summer with long, sunny days. Summertime temperatures range from the mid 50's to well over 100. Winters are moist and often blanketed with heavy fog. Wintertime temperatures range from the low 30's to mid 50's.
