Named after John Rowland who received a
land grant along with Willima Workman in
1842, Rancho La Puente, Rowland Heights
grew out of pig farming in the Rowland
Homestead, a beautiful place with an
abundance of oranges from the groves
that could still thrive in the area
today.
Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights,
Walnut, and Diamond Bar contain a large
Asian population as many of the markets
and shops serve this populace.
Known for its excellent cuisine with
Asian influences, there are Thai,
