Seaside in the Monterey Bay is the northern coastal city that features exactly what the name says--a seaside location for the affordable vacation in the Monterey/Carmel region.

When visiting, be sure to take long pants and jackets as the weather can be cool and windy at times, but you may also arrive to find warm sunshine.

The location includes access to world class golf courses, miles upon miles of beaches, hang-gliding, surfing & swimming (though the ocean can be somewhat rough and caution is advised), shopping, and dining.

Getting there: You can catch connector flights from major U.S. airports into Monterey Airport, a few miles distance from Seaside. Upon arrival, rent a car and drive through the scenic region along the coast to explore beautiful beaches, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Roaring Camp Train in Felton, and the Santa Cruz BoardWalk outdoor beach amusement park.

Before you go, be sure to plan your trip ahead of time. Special events such as car races, Monterey Jazz Festival and other major events held annually can fill the hotel rooms in the city.
