Brass in the Grass 2nd annual car show will takes place Sunday, May 22nd 2011 on
the Campus Green of Redwood Academy at 385 Mark West Springs Rd. in Santa Rosa.
Brass in the Grass 2011 is a festival of the first half of the last century,
1900-1949 celebrating the vehicles of stock appearance, or period correct
modified, during those years. You will see the stars of the show, the Brass Age
antique Automobiles of 1900-1919, and a supporting cast of all sorts of vehicles
that came after (until 1949). They have been steadily sent to museums and put
under covers in garages--Unlike the '50's and up Hot Rod and Muscle Car shows
that are wonderful but plentiful in Northern California.
In 2011 the Concours winners, Driver, and the Barn Find condition vehicles are returning to the show.
You will enjoy varied vehicle displays of Antique Fire Engines, Motorcycles, and
beautiful Wooden Power Boats. This year the event expands its Military Vehicle
display, USO show and a tribute to WWII Veterans! Antique Tractors, walk
behinds, as well as small farm engines from the early part of last century have
been invited to participate. There's an 18-piece Big Band, Moonlighters, and
Andrews sister tribute trio The Fondettes. Vintage clothing will also be
showcased.
