The City of Arcadia hosts its annual Tree Lighting Celebration on the first Thursday of December. Santa Claus arrives on the Big Red Fire Truck. He disembarks and proceeds to the awaiting crowd and Christmas Tree. After some dignitaries, speeches and carolers singing holiday music, Arcadia's Mayor signals Santa to light the tree. Stick around for activities such as visit with Santa, crafts for the kids such as face painting, balloon art and drawing, coloring, etc. The celebration includes free hot cocoa and treats and lots of photo-taking opportunities for the folks to capture special moments. The tree lighting marks the beginning of fun holiday festivities in Arcadia.
