It's no surprise with Benicia's shipping and boating history that there's a marina, yachting club and a wonderful Christmas boat parade tradition that the public comes to see each year.

While the city's shipping history and strategic location on the  north bank of the Carquinez Strait in the North Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area defined Benicia early on, today the city has an active sailing community hosting multiple events such as yacht racing competitions, outings & excursions and of course, the Lighted Boat Parade in December.

Benicia Yacht Club's boat parade is a beloved tradition hosted with great enthusiasm within weeks or days of the city's other Christmas parade.

After the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Benicia, make a date for the Christmas Parade and Holiday Market. But while you're at it, also take time to see the Lighted Boat Parade, as well.

Benicia is a fun-filled city with lots going on. In addition to the winter holiday tree lighting and several parades, there's also Benicia Ballet Theatre's Nutcracker.
