Grover Beach - - In addition to the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department is seeking nominations for the Holiday of Lights Decorating Contest.

The Holiday of Lights Decorating Contest is a chance for Grover Beach residents and businesses to show off their outdoor decorating skills for the holidays. If you have a business or live in Grover Beach and are planning a beautiful, unique, or just plain fun, decorating scheme for your house; show it off by entering the contest. Your creation could be recognized with the Mayor's Award or any of the other honors to be awarded and be included in a special map for the community to take their own self-guided tour.

The Parks, Recreation and Beautification Commission will be canvassing Grover Beach neighborhoods to select and nominate properties for the final judging.

Honors are awarded for the following categories:
1. Mayor's Award Best overall in originality
2. City Council Award Best original use of animation and/or craftsmanship
3. Commissioner's Award Best use of lights
4. Business Award Best overall business display
