Christmas Parade, Tree Lighting and Merchant Open House
45th Annual Holiday Parade is a true holiday tradition with thousands lining the street each year to kick off the holiday season in style! The parade starts at 6 p.m., but many come early to Rotary Plaza to sing carols from 5-6 p.m. and anxiously await Santa's arrival via fire truck. Once Santa arrives, one lucky local family is selected each year to help the Mayor flip the switch on Star Pine, lighting the giant tree in all its glory and light the Menorah with all its grandeur. Additional handicap parking is available on the 1100 block of Tenth Street and the 1000 block of C Avenue.
The holidays are anything but ordinary in the beach community of Coronado. From the bikini-clad ice skaters at the beautiful ice rink at Hotel del Coronado, an annual tradition, to the special events such as the Parade and Holiday Open House, get ready to celebrate Christmas in one of the most special places in the world!
Coronado is all about traditions and once again the Coronado Tourism Improvement District (CTID) participates in the Holiday Open House Parade. The Open House begins at 3:30pm when Santa arrives at Snow Mountain at Coronado Ferry Landing. Afterwards, Santa will host the annual parade that winds through Coronado's downtown business district.
