The annual Los Gatos Children's Holiday Parade is a tradition in Los Gatos held the morning after the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Approx. 15,000 people come to watch the fun event which includes ample doses of youthful exuberance as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, marching school bands, drill teams and floats make their way down the Avenue. with adoring parents watching on.
Among the many entries are the popular equestrian units with beautiful horses, part of the judging for awards.
The rules and regulations are nearly the same as similar parades--no toys, candy or other materials can be handed out or thrown from your entry. Each entry must have a Christmas or Holiday theme to be able to participate in the parade. Only the Official Parade Santa will be permitted in the parade. Do not dress anyone in your entry as Santa.
The Grand Marshal in the parade is selected through in a process seeking individuals actively involved with the youth in the Los Gatos community deserving of special recognition.
The Annual Children's Christmas/Holidays Parade is sponsored by the Los Gatos Lions Club & LGS Recreation, in cooperation with the Town of Los Gatos and Los Gatos High School.
For more holiday events, be sure to check the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony the night before the parade!
Much like the Bunny Parade in Campbell each spring, this parade allows any child to dress in festive costume and participate in the parade through registration.
Other great events in Los Gatos include the annual Bunny Fun Hunt held around Easter time and Halloween Trick or Treat events. Here's the annual events list of some Town of Los Gatos events.
