Founded in 1995, the annual parade of lights in Downtown Oroville takes place on the second Saturday in December. Bring your family and friends to this great family event. Come early to enjoy dinner and shopping before the parade begins. The parade is usually a week after the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is held.
Past info: Time: 3-8 p.m. Santa will arrive at 3 p.m. at the corner of Bird & Myers for visiting and photos. Bring your camera! Holiday vendors will line Myers St. from Bird to Montgomery. The Parade of Lights begins at 6 p.m. starting at the corner of Montgomery & Huntoon, to Lincoln, Bird, Downer back to Montgomery. Christmas tree lighting ceremony immediately follows the parade and takes place in front of the Municipal Auditorium, 1200 Myers St.
Types of entries accepted in the parade for a small fee include: Individual on Foot, Float, Group on Foot, Walkers, Single Horse, Band/Auxiliary Unit, Group of Horses, Commercial Vehicle, Vehicles max 3, Non-Commercial Vehicle, Float (pick-up up to 35', Mounted Unit or Horse Drawn, Truck & Trailer up to 65'.
