Parade Route: Circling Capitol Park; Starts at 14th and N Streets, west on N to 10th, north on 10th, east on L Street to its finish at 12th and L. The route marches around the California State Capitol.
The Santa Parade is a Sacramento tradition. The parade features marching bands, clowns, youth groups, horses, antique vehicles and Santa Claus. Free.
Over 25,000 spectators come to see The Santa Parade which includes marching bands, high-stepping horses, colorful clowns, vintage vehicles, skillful twirlers and dazzling floats. The parade is a hometown tradition for all, spectators and participants alike. Originally conceived by Weinstock's Department Store and KCRA Television in 1983, the parade was established to create a signature holiday tradition in the heart of the city for all of Sacramento and was an immediate success, drawing many thousands of visitors to downtown Sacramento each year.
Other events include a free summer concert series, jazz concerts and Halloween events.
