Sunnyvale's Annual Parade with hot cocos and cookies, and fun for all. The Columbia Middle School choir will perform and Santa is available for pictures.
The Lakewood Village Holiday Parade is one of Lakewood Village's oldest and best known traditions. The first Holiday Parade was organized in 1959, and the tradition has been continued by the LVNA. The parade is organized by the LVNA Board and produced by fifteen to twenty-five volunteers. The Holiday Parade is usually held on the second Saturday of December each year, and is the only parade of its kind in the city of Sunnyvale.
Parade participants stage their positions at Lakewood School at 10 a.m. on the day of the parade, and the parade begins at 11 a.m., and follows the route: Sunnyvale Public Safety stops at traffic intersections along the one mile route as the parade makes its way east along Lakehaven Drive, crosses Lawrence Expressway, continues east on Sandia Avenue, and ends at Fairwood School. At the end of the parade, hot chocolate, cider, and cookies are served at Fairwood Park.
Are you interested in participating in the Holiday Parade? There are several ways to participate. Contact the LVNA President to find out more. Parade participants typically include the Fremont Marching Band and Color Guard, Fairwood, Lakewood, and Columbia schools, other youth groups, local clubs and service organizations, local businesses, City departments and City Council members, and of course, Santa Claus himself!
