Madhatter Masks encouraged! This Alice in Wonderland experience begins with marching bands, train rides, an international holiday food court, vendor marketplace and the exciting part - dragons, animated wonderland characters and The Red Queen coming out of the Rabbit Hole.
The Mad Hatter Holiday Parade at 4 p.m. has always been one of our favorite California holiday parades because of its off-beat costumes, parade floats and entries, and of course, the unique theme. Expect plenty of irreverence, merriment and theatrics at this Bay Area event where the public comes out to be entertained in a most unusual way. It's really a day of holiday entertainment featuring two parades, on on land and one by sea, plus the annual holiday tree lighting which is perhaps the most traditional aspect of the event. If you love Christmas traditions, put this one on your bucket list the next time you happen to be in the area on or around the first Saturday in December.
