2024 NOTICE FROM MICHAEL SHORT:
The 30th Annual City of Orange Tree Lighting and Candlelight Procession on December 8, 2024, at the City of Orange Plaza Park will be attended by over 5,000 residents, friends, and local dignitaries. The Orange Community Master Chorale along with high school and local church choirs are joined by a full orchestra and the St. John's Lutheran School Children’s Choir to ring in the holiday season. In past years, the City of Orange has funded the event. The City of Orange is currently experiencing a budget deficit that has impacted many of the community events that are important experiences for those who live in this historic and treasured city. While the City Council wants to continue funding these events, they have determined that it will not be possible now. This provides an opportunity for those who are willing and able to underwrite cherished events with the full support of the city council.
Join the City of Orange at Old Towne Plaza for an evening of holiday cheer and family fun to sing traditional carols of the season. Local non-profit groups provide delicious food and youth activities for a nominal charge.
Other exciting and fun community events include the Orange summer concerts, Halloween at Irvine Railroad Pumpkin Patch, and tree lighting ceremony in Old Towne.
Events are not guaranteed. It is your responsibility to confirm before going.
