As the Nation's Christmas Tree City, come see the lighting of a beautiful sapling of the Nation's Christmas tree, General Grant in this 40th annual ceremony to launch the holidays in the City of Sanger. Don't miss the very special guest dropping by from the North Pole, Santa Claus!
This is the City Tree Lighting Ceremony. Sanger Chamber of Commerce also hosts the trek to see the Nation's Christmas Tree in Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park.
Other fun holiday events fill Sanger's city roster around Christmas. Be sure not to miss the Sanger Christmas Parade.
The Annual Tree Lighting includes caroling, a Christmas message, Lighting of the Tree, refreshments, and the arrival of Santa Claus will help usher in the holiday season. Call the Sanger Chamber for more information, Sanger loves and honors its trees. In addition to making the annual trek to the nation's Christmas Tree, General Grant, in Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park, the city also celebrates its very own town tree.
The event includes the arrival of Santa Claus, caroling, a Christmas Message and Refreshments, and the Arrival of Santa Claus!
The city during its centennial year
formed a committee to try to establish a
marketing plan surrounding the city's
claim as "the nation's Christmas Tree"
city. While the nation's tree, General
Grant, is located in the King Canyon
National Forest, each year the Sanger
Chamber of Commerce fills up a bus with
those who want to visit the redwood
forests and place a wreath at the base
of one special tree which is one of the
biggest trees in the world.
