Come join the community celebration of the annual tree lighting next to the Seal Beach Pier in Eisenhower Park. Dignitaries give a few speeches, and the big tree lighting happens around sunset. There is snow for the children to play in and hot cocoa and cookies for sale.
Several years ago the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the City of Seal Beach acquired a new holiday tree that stands tall and is based on the ground, surrounded by artificial packages and big globe, decorative holiday ornaments. Previous to that tree the light involved lighting a "tree of lights" that appeared in the sky, attached to a light pole or flag pole.
While the community loved this holiday symbol, they enthusiastically welcomed an actual artificial tree that now creates an ambience for the holidays, complete with presents that suggest visitors and locals can shop directly across the street on Main Street, filled with unique boutiques and stores ideal for holiday gifts.
