The annual Lights on Temple City is so much more than a tree lighting ceremony. It includes a parade, a winter festival atmosphere with Santa Claus, Christmas carols, real snow for kids to play in, holiday crafts kids can take home with them and as the grand finale, the lighting of the 100 foot high redwood tree is dazzles the crowd.

Holiday parade begins at Las Tunas Dr. and Clovery proceeding to the park. Participants include Temple City - City Council members, the Camellia Festival Royal Court and Temple City High School Marching Band. Non-profit organizations and scout troops often appear, as well.

At the conclusion of the parade Santa and the City Council light the City tree from the Performing Arts Pavilion.

Las Tunas Drive closed to traffic between Cloverly and Golden West avenues from 5-8 p.m. to accommodate the parade. Parking prohibited  4-8 p.m.

Getting the holiday season underway, Lights on Temple City is comes to town at Temple City Park. The annual family event will feature a whopping 40 tons of snow, complete with sled runs and two play areas for the kids. As always, Santa Claus will be on hand to pose for photos and spend time with the children. Youngsters will also be able to take home holiday crafts and even have Santa's elves make their favorite balloon animals. A holiday parade at 7 p.m. proceeds along Las Tunas Drive. Santa makes a splashy entrance into Temple City Park, followed by a lighting of the park's 100-foot redwood tree.

Holiday food treats available for purchase.

If you love having fun, Temple City is the place to enjoy some awesome celebrations such as the annual Camellia Festival in the spring and the free summer concerts in the park.
