events celebrate the season including the Blossom Bike Ride and the

Tower District Mardi Gras Parade
With each year bringing a different festive theme for the celebration,
the Tower District beckons visitors to come early to find a great spot

Shinzen Garden Spring Blossom Festival
This annual event occurs on the weekend closest to the Equinox. Blooming
cherry and crabapple trees, along with forsythia, kerria, and miniature
daffodils will be at their most magnificent. The Teahouse is open for
viewing, and the Fresno Bonsai Society Show will add to the beauty and
culture celebrated at this event.

An annual rite of spring in the San Joaquin Valley attracting some of

Laton Rodeo & Rodeo Days
The parade kicks off a weekend filled with festivities for the entire
family. After the parade enjoy a rodeo barbecue lunch, two days of rodeo
events, and a concert. Rodeo action includes seven International

Orange Cove Blossom Festival and Pageant
A new tradition to celebrate the Orange Blossom Trail. Family friendly

Big Hat Days
Kick off Western heritage month at the largest festival in the Central
Valley (65 years and running). Wear a big hat to shield you from the

Clovis Rodeo
A way of life since 1914, this annual tradition has grown to become a
stop on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Tour. A true regional
event, festivities include an opening night concert by a top country
music artist, a rodeo parade complete with a queen and her court, a
dance and a special kids' rodeo event.

Vintage Days at Fresno State
Vintage Days is a four-day celebration which attracts over 50,000 people
to the Fresno State campus. The annual spring event combines numerous
social, cultural and recreational activities into a series of
coordinated programs over an extended weekend. Activities include:
Boomtown Carnival, Casino Night, Concerts, Crafts Faire, Kid's Day, and
Special Events.

Kingsburg Car Show
One of the largest pre-72 shows in the Valley. Featuring great food,
entertainment, carnival, shopping and an old fashioned sock-hop. Come
visit at dusk on Friday night and watch the procession of classic cars

Clovis Fest
For 30 years, the Clovisfest and Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly is held on the
last full weekend in September, attracting over 70,000 visitors. Two
days of free family fun in Old Town Clovis are centered around 25 booths
with multi-cultural food, great live entertainment, over 200 craft
artisans, carnival games and a great car display. Each day at sunrise
the sky fills with colorful hot air balloons, lifting off to float
across the Valley.

Selma Rotary Marching Band Festival
Growing bigger and better every year this marching band extravaganza was
launched in 1965. The Selma Rotary sponsors this event and plans to
continue the tradition for years to come. The traditional hot air
balloons will launch in the morning to signal the start of the festival
and then the parade begins. Winding through downtown, the festival
breaks for lunch before regrouping for the dazzling field show
competition Selma High's Staley Stadium at 1:30 p.m. In addition to
marching bands, participants in the parade include community groups,
dignitaries, Shriner Clowns, car clubs and a Japanese Taiko drummer band

Annual Trek to the Nation's Christmas Tree
This annual pilgrimage is a landmark event honoring the Christmas
tradition!. The annual Nation's Christmas Tree Ceremony is scheduled to
take place at 2:30 p.m. on the second Sunday in December, at the base of
the General Grant Tree in Grant Grove at Kings Canyon National Park.
This will be the 79th celebration of the two honors held by the General
Grant Tree. It was designated as the Nation's Christmas Tree by
President Calvin Coolidge in 1926, and established as the only living
National Shrine in 1956 to honor those who gave their lives in service
to their country. Enjoy non-denominational services, live musical
performances, a tribute to those who died serving the country, and a
presidential proclamation. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of
the Chartered bus service (with full police escort) arranged by the
Sanger Chamber of Commerce. Set in an enchanted winter wonderland, this
inspiring one and one half hour event, defines the spirit of Christmas.
