Four Embarcadero Center is part of the larger Embarcadero Center located in the central business district in San Francisco. The Embarcadero Center was originally developed as part of the San Francisco Redevelopment Agencies efforts to change what had become a blighted area along the city's waterfront in the 1960's. Over the years investments were made to make the building operating systems more efficient to conserve energy and maintain a competitive position in the San Francisco Office market. This most recent achievement, earning LEED GOLD certification is a testament to all of those efforts through the years as well as a commitment toward the future to maintain the Embarcadero Center as a sustainable icon in this landscape.
