BIG BEAR CITY / FAWNSKIN: Victorian Days June 11 -12, 2011
Victorian Days sponsored by The Big Bear Valley Renaissance Society, Inc., is hosting what Westways Magazine calls Top Five Worth a Drive. Its permanent site on the north shore of Big Bear Lake showcases 19th century Victorian era, pioneers, Wild West, old miners, the American civil war, and Steampunk!
Literary characters and authors, historical figures, shoot outs in the streets, strange devices carried by the Captain of a Zeppelin, arrests and judgments from the "hangin' judge are part of the period entertainment and games.
Costumes are not mandatory, but definitely are fun. To kick things off, the opening of the Fawnskin Victorian Days will be preceded by the annual Fawnskin Doo Dah Parade, which runs 10-11am, Saturday morning. . bbvrsinc
