Medicine Show - It's the early thirties in Napa
Valley. Prohibition is winding down but
the speakeasies, wine country resorts,
and bootleggers are going strong. Doctor
Love is bringing his medicine show
comedy troupe of vaudeville, burlesque,
and carnival entertainers to perform in
the speakeasies and vineyards while he
stocks up on his supplies of homemade
wine and raison "bricks" used in his
famous cure-all love potion. The
Medicine Show's lineup includes the
Doctor's impersonators of the
stars of the day, like Enrico Caruso,
Sally Rand with her infamous fan dance,
Al Capone, Sophie Tucker, Elliott Ness,
Fannie Brice, Betty Boop and Mata Lulu
... with a special appearance by the
Dandelightsshowgirl chorus straight from
the Zeigfield Follies.

Anniversary. The Silverado 4th of July
Parade in Calistoga draws thousands each
year to celebrate Independence Day with
a patriotic, classic small-town parade,
then enjoy an afternoon of family fun at
the Napa County Fair. Calistoga's July
4th culminates with one of Northern
California's best fireworks displays.

Calistoga celebrates its 125th
anniversary with a big birthday party
open to one and all! Live music, family
activities, street performers, food
vendors, wine from historic Calistoga
wineries, children's art table, dunk
tank, bounce house and more. The official celebration of
Calistoga's 125th Anniversary starts at noon with a ceremony by
statewide officers of Native Sons of the
Golden West dedicating the 1887 I.O.O.F.
building as a historic structure. The
Farmers Market will extend their hours
to 2 p.m. for this event.
