At 11 a.m. you are invited to help ranch staff in their daily farm animal chores and meet Pleasant Hill 4-H members who own and care for the large animals.
Starting at 1 p.m. the ranch buildings will be open for self-guided tours.
Ages 6 to 12 years are invited to environmental education activities and crafts at Howe Homestead from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Howe Homestead Community Park is located at 2950 Walnut Boulevard.
Storytelling around the campfire back at the Hanna Grove Amphitheater at 7 p.m. closes out a spectacular day connecting with the local terra firma.
All programs require reservations. We’re planning a full day with something for everyone as we celebrate the 2728 acres of the Walnut Creek Open Space.
Other events: spooktacular Halloween or get ready to rock with Santa around the Christmas tree at the downtown plaza for the annual holiday Tree Lighting ceremony.
