WATSONVILLE, CALIF.--What are you doing this weekend? Labor Day Weekend is traditionally the
final exodus and last big trip taken by families before school begins,
and in past years California state and municipal beaches reported their
top visitor numbers occurred on this three day holiday.
Excited crowds in Watsonville flock by the thousands annually to see the
great Watsonville Fly In and Air Show, where attendance is anticipated
to top previous records, as usual. Why? People are traveling local,
staying close to home, and participating in local events. With a
population base of several million people in the nearby Bay Area that
includes San Jose and San Francisco, the air show in Watsonville
provides an easy day trip filled with color, excitement and thrills.
Watsonville Fly-In and Air Show includes entertainment, activities,
music, art, crafts, food and vendors, plus lots of aircraft and flying
demonstrations. The event celebrates 100 years of aviation with military
craft, warbirds, and past shows have included Dr. D's deadstick aerobatics and Tim Decker's
trademark precision aerial maneuvers with exciting cockpit narration as
he imposes G-forces on his body like those felt in a fighter jet. Stunt
pilots, Monster Trucks, a Hellcat, Bearcat, Warhawk and P-51 Mustang are
among the mighty machines converging at Watsonville Airport for the
public to admire and photograph.
