Cloverdale, Calif.--An annual
tradition since 1892, the Cloverdale
Citrus Fair shows that in agriculture,
fairs bring reminders of the changes in California when it
comes to local produce and crops. Cloverdale is one such
example. Cloverdale Citrus Fair can't help but celebrate and
pay attention to wine growing and wines that are produced
locally, so the fair now reflects that trend. While some
things about the fair are the same, the contests and
agricultural bend are a little different in recent decades.
Things that don't change at the fair:
A carnival,
midway, games, music, contests, beauty queen and her court,
are all things you would have seen as long as even 100 years
ago at earlier Cloverdale Citrus Fairs. The enjoyable
aspects of this location and event are showcased in the
bucolic setting--and springtime when the fair is held in
Feb. is the ideal time to visit and enjoy the scenery. The
weather is often some of the best you'll find.
Cloverdale loves events, traditions, and
also likes to shake things up with change, as well. So when
you plan to visit, you'll find the fair encapsulates the
best aspects of life and the people who live in the region.
If there's one event you want to attend all year, this is a
best bet.
Cloverdale Citrus Fair is not the primary fair for Sonoma County. Santa Rosa hosts the annual Sonoma County Fair each year.
