July is one of the best months to visit a county fair in California. Why? Several of the extended fairs such as San Diego, Sacramento, Orange County, Alameda County and Mid-State Fair have dates in July.

Summer guarantees shirt-sleeves and shorts weather and many fairs offer mist areas for cooling off during your visit. We've counted 14 fairs in the month of July this year. In addition to Independence Day celebrations, the fairgrounds are booming with events and activities for the public to enjoy.
