The Shasta District Fair is held annually Wednesday through Saturday in June.
The largest event in Shasta County features livestock exhibits, arts & crafts, carnival, live entertainment, and lots of vendors and concessionaires bringing fair-goers a dizzying array of souvenirs, food and drinks. The fair offers the usual fare - oversized servings of curly french fries, giant hot dogs and devilish delights such as cotton candy sno-cones, funnel cake and ice cream.
There's always some crazy entertainment such as a hypnotist, magician, clown, juggler or funny person with bugs, reptiles or even dogs.
And for the real animal attraction, check out the pigs, sheep, lambs, ducklings, cows, goats and rabbits often raised by children for the farm competitions.
Want even more excitement? The carnival will do the trick with rides to shake you, spin you and turn you upside down. These are just a few reasons why Shasta District Fair is so much fun.
