California celebrates Oktoberfest annually with over 100 events ranging from 1 day festivals to weeklong and month-long seasons. From the delicious Oktoberfest foods to the great beers on tap, Oktoberfest is a season to savor and enjoy, then long for the rest of the year.

The World's Largest Oktoberfest (also world's largest folk festival), the 189th Oktoberfest takes place in Munich, Germany on the Theresienwiese. Celebrated for 16 days this year, it kicks off with a parade, the bier barrel is tapped by Mayor Dieter Reiter on September 21, 2024 at 12 noon in the Schottenhamel Festival Hall and concludes on October 6, 2024.

Organized by the City of Munich's Department of Labour and Economic Affairs, Clemens Baumgärtner is responsible for Oktoberfest operations. In the 17 festival halls with a total of around 120,000 seats, the special 13% alcohol Oktoberfest beers come from six traditional Munich breweries Augustiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Löwenbräu, Paulaner, Spaten and Staatliches Hofbräuhaus.   (oktoberfest.de)
