Pasadena Lunar New Year Festival

Celebrate the Year of the Snake at USC Pacific Asia Museum's
annual festival featuring lion dancers, traditional East Asian music and dance, opera, and more. While you can immerse yourself year-round at this fascinating museum with programs inspired by Asian and Pacific Islands art and culture, a special one-day celebration offers a great time for your visit.

Live stories, festive crafts and local food trucks set the stage for a day of non-stop action:

  • 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Calligraphy, Barnsdall Art Making
  • 12 p.m. Lion Dance + Martial Arts by the Northern Shaolin Kung Fu Association
  • 12:30 p.m. USC Traditional Chinese Dance
  • 1 p.m. Korean Classical Music & Dance Company
  • 2 p.m. Storytime with Altadena Public Library staff
  • 3 p.m. Opera soprano Shirley Wang performs
  • 4 p.m. USC Kazan Taiko

Performers and partners each year present special dance performances, musical entertainment, fine arts, martial arts and more. Crafts & Activities, calligraphy workshop, and public tours of the museum are offered during this annual Lunar New Year event.
