From August through October, mechanical tree "shakers" harvest  California almond crops. Kerman celebrates almonds with its Almond Festival, usually in May. The Harvest Festival in September pays homage to and celebrates not only almonds, but other fruits & vegetables grown in Fresno County. From raisins to organic heirloom tomatoes, wine or table grapes to melons, you'll likely see an abundance of crops grown in and around Kerman where over 50 farms and food growing or distribution businesses exist.

Many of the people attending Kerman's Harvest festival work in the food business and for them, the festival and parade brings great pride and reason for celebrating the strengths of this mostly farming community.
