The annual Labor Day weekend 'battle of the paddle' celebrates more than 20 years of Lake Tahoe races. The public can reserve seats on board the the sternwheeler "racing" boats and and enjoy a refreshing ride on the largest alpine lake in North America.

On Labor Day weekend Saturday, Tahoe Queen and the M.S. Dixie II at Zephyr Cove take part in the annual Great Lake Tahoe Sternwheeler Race. South Shore's two Mississippi paddlewheelers take to the lake for a four-mile race along the shoreline for the Tahoe Cup and bragging rights of lake supremacy. The Tahoe Queen and M.S. Dixie sell tickets for the race / ride, and begin boarding at 10 a.m. Passengers can join the party aboard either boat for a unique Tahoe experience with memories, brunch and drink specials.

Other exciting boating events on Lake Tahoe include the fabulous Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance. That event is usually held in the summer months, often in August.
