Kids don't know how easy they have it or how different life would have been if they'd lived as a youngster at a California mission. They can get a small glimpse into the lifestyle by participating in the annual Children's Mission Life.

At this youth version of Mission Life Days kids can make candles, tortillas, soap, pottery, weave, learn carpentry and blacksmithing. Mission La Purisima State Historic Park is part of the state of California's educational learning opportunities programs in which kids from around the state often visit the mission with their schools. The active mission offers programs to the public throughout the year such as Purisima People's Days, Village Days, Mountain Men and the wonderful Christmas concerts and candlelight programs in the fall.
